In a relaxed atmosphere, we combine fine dining with a casual, contemporary approach.

Our cuisine is characterised by creative dishes: the finest seasonal ingredients from the region, carefully selected and given a modern twist.

Freshness, quality and sustainability define our cuisine – in every dish you will discover something of our heritage.

Without formalities, but with great attention to detail, we create a culinary experience that perfectly combines enjoyment and lightness.

We, Tom and Catinka, bring international experience and accolades to the table — Gault Millau, Michelin Guide, Feinschmecker. You may know us from the Taberna.

Seasonality as a concept in harmony with the terroir of the Markgräflerland

Our menu changes with the seasons. Close collaboration with our local producers is important to us, as they know what is currently in season, tastes good and suits our style.

Whether in the vegetable patch, at the small cheese dairy or during our weekly visit to the market, direct contact is a matter close to our hearts.

That is why every plate tells a story about our region – this is the Markgräflerland, the Black Forest — our home

Skill and innovation

Tom taught at Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world’s most renowned culinary schools, in the heart of London. That’s where we met.

That’s why we value the classic techniques of French cuisine as our foundation.

Drawing on our international roots, we enjoy reinterpreting classic dishes without altering their character.

We want our food to bring a smile to your face and a tingle in your stomach.

Breakfast in the "Zur Sonne"

The perfect start to your day with a breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired, served by a “breakfast fairy” who brings you your coffee and freshly prepared egg dishes with a smile. 

Anyone who knows Sabine appreciates the experience of breakfast in the “Zur Sonne”.

Non-residents are also welcome - reserve your table today.

On special occasions, we treat you to our brunch—making Easter, Mother’s Day, and New Year’s Day even more wonderful.
